While talking about AI or Artificial Intelligence we mean a machine or device capable of performing a task in a way which would appear rational to humans. Robotics has more to do on automation of devices to perform repetitive works which would either be difficult or involving too much labour from the part of humans.
Leading AI textbooks define the field as the study of "intelligent agents": any device that perceives its environment and takes actions that maximize its chance of successfully achieving its goals.
Modern machine capabilities generally classified as AI include successfully understanding human speech, competing at the highest level in strategic game systems, autonomously operating cars, intelligent routing in content delivery networks, and military simulations.
By participating in this workshop, one will become aware regarding the modern trends in AI and how it is helping create innovations in the field of engineering. Further, it would also focus on some aspects of machine learning and classifications. There are many situations where all the information are not exactly available, and the part of the information have to be extrapolated based on the data available in a particular situation. So, some of the formalisms which are used to deal with partial information or fuzziness will be dealt in the last day of the workshop.
