The Annual Fund supports every aspect of the Museum — from upkeep staff support, regular maintenance and day-to-day operations to feeding our friends in the Live Animal Care Units; to allowing our educators to create new interactive exhibits and develop live presentations. Every Rupee you generously give to the Recurrent Annual Fund goes directly into furthering STEM education and delivering an amazing experience to visitors of all ages.
Your gift to the Recurrent Annual Fund goes to work immediately and is essential to the Museum’s efforts to inspire the dreamers and thinkers of tomorrow.
Making a monthly commitment to the Museum provides a consistent source of revenue we can count on every month to fund our mission to make this one-of-a-kind educational experience accessible to all.
You decide how much you would like to pledge and after that, everything is automatic. No checks, no envelopes to mail. You remain in total control and you can withdraw from the program or change the amount of your pledge at any time. It’s simple, secure, and one of the best ways you can support the Museum.
We will gladly assist you in a payment plan that works best for you; just call the Senior Education Officer, Regional Science Centre and Planetarium, Calicut.
We nurture a number of Live Animals so that even in this city set up our kids can grow a healthy relationship with the animal world.
In our museum they can see and play with the Turtle, the Swans. They can see exotic fishes - not only the normal colorful aquarium varities, but also the special ones like Piranha and Shark. Here you can see the Pirnaha beeing fed on beef. We have big plans with the animal life unit - we wish to set up big marine and sweet water aquaria. But our scant finds do not allow us to adopt or induct them.
We care for about 20 animals and regulary provide pets to the willing visitors as our animals breed even in their simulated habitat here. We take the support of the Zoological Survey of India to scientifically create their ambience.
If you support our causes to create a fauna display for our kids, not only will they be able to develop the habit of sharing the earth with them, our animal will also say you "Thank you!!
We take our club members on trip to Vainu Bapu Observatory to see how professional astronomers work with huge telescopes. We take our biology enthusiasts to field trips, we organise overnight star watch parites and in-depth seminars or workshops. We send students to different science laboratories to meet the scientists.
All these are fund intensive endeavors and we need your support to continue these programs.
Your gift will not only ensure that we can continue our programs as we have done over the last twenty odd years, it also helps us to devise new avenues of helping our students to see the real way of doing science.
It is a part of our mission to eradicate the social and economic disadvantage that troubles a part of our youth. We believe one way to alivieate such disadvantages is to enable them with different skill-sets.
We have regulary organise Solar Panel installation training, training in computer assembly, Multimedia development training and electronics maintenance training to the SC/ST/OBC or BPL youth members of the society. We do it in collaboratio with organisations like NEILIT and the Panchayat Samitis.
Your gift will help us in procuring more equipment and means to train them with the best possible skills to enable them helping others. The better aid we can provide for the program, the better teachers and facilities we can include in the project.
Our upkeep staff maintains the Science Centre Atmospherics and ambience. They are the peple for whose diligent contribution and passion to the work, you find this Centre so well maintained and clean. They also are the care givers for the Live Animal Collection of the Centre. But now their role has become even more critical as they are the front runner of our efforts to disinfect our facilities regularly with elaborate sanitation and disinfection drills.
The garden of the Science Centre that gets largely destroyed by every monsoon waterlogging, gets green again because of their love and care of this centre.
But they are directly onto on our rolls. Naturally, when the funds get slashed for reaslons like the current pandemic, they are relegated to the receiving end of the trouble. We sincerely value their work immensely and consider that without them or with reduction in their numbers, we will not be in a position to maintain our ambience at the same immaculate standard that we were known for.
So, we seek your generous support so that we do not have to lose any one of them. Your regular gift can save their livelihood. Not only they will be gratified to you, we all will say thank you when you decide to save their livelihood.
Every year we wish to add to our facilities. This is essential for the Science Centre to Grow. A Science Centre that is not growing will slowly go out of tune with the community as the community always aspires to grow and get richer experiences.
Your gift helps us to plan our future expansions and can return the gift to you in terms of new facilities.
